Personality
Judocus, or Jud as his crewmates call him, is a very carefree man who usually has a smile on his face. Although others call him a pirate, Jud identifies himself as a mason trying to form a world to his liking. He doesn't often think about the consequences of his actions and is very blunt when he speaks his mind. His grandfatherly nature and willingness to see others grow into their full potential is undermined by the fact that he distributes harsh training to those he cares about, lacking a soft touch for situations that require it.
Members of his crew are all equal onboard his ship, although they tend to defer to Jud because of his experience and ability. Although his group are called the Stonemasons, anyone with a skill for crafting is welcome aboard his ship. Most of the crew are not fighters, even though many of them are very strong, so it usually depends on Jud to do the fighting (which he is often the cause of). Jud and his crew care nothing for gold or treasure, opting for searching for master pieces of craftsmanship. They make their money by trading their craftsmanship skills for food and hospitality.
Judocus has a single life philosophy: Strong men and women are built by their personalities, but formed by their experiences. He took this philosophy from his master who was a stone mason, and applies it not only to his craft but to those he meets in his journeys. If he deems a person he meets worthy, often if they have a strong or kind personality, he will deem to be his "disciple" and will immediately attack them whether they were a pirate, marine, or just regular citizen. His reasoning for this was that a person's true emotions came to the surface during a fight, and that battle helped shape a better person. This caused issues when he was a member of the marines since he would attack citizens or other marines. He would never seriously harm a person who was much weaker than himself, see: most everyone, but could leave the person seriously bruised. He writes the names of those he deems worthy in a logbook along with their name, abilities, and potential for growth. Those whose names are written in the logbook can expect to be randomly attacked every so often from out of the blue.
Although Jud feels as though he has a right to "train" anyone he meets, he does not like those who bully others, believing those that do to be "poorly shaped by life". He can find humour in almost any situation, believing that crafting while angry leads to shoddy work. The only situation which visibly saddens Jud is when he is forced to face off against his daughter. He worries for her whenever he hears about her battling pirates, but always celebrates her victories and promotions. Jud realizes that Ash has grown up to be a strong woman, but believes she lacks social grace and always s tries to set her up with men he likes.

Abilities
Devil Fruit: Hito Hito no Mi, Model: Golem
As the name suggests, Jud is a Zoan type Devil Fruit user of the Mythical class. Although seemingly a Paramecia, Jud's transformation is similar to that of Sengoku's. Jud's height , weight, and shoulder width double. His entire body becomes a white, smooth stone like material that is very resistant to piercing and blunt damage. His strength increases threefold, but his speed is halved because of his weight.

Weapons/Fighting Style
Jud is all about using his body as a weapon. Punches, kicks, tackles, throws, all are used by Jud. Although he is very resistant to pain, he prefers to prevent his opponents from attacking if possible. If he is attacked by a person wielding weapons, he tends to break them in his hands. He moves very quickly for a man his size, but is not much quicker than an average man.
Jud only switches to his Golem form if he feels that the person he is fighting is could be a disciple, or already is one.

Attacks
1st Lesson: Punch to the face
2nd Lesson: Kick to the gut
3rd Lesson: Masonry 101
4th Lesson: Over shoulder throw
Final Lesson: Golem Suplex

Backstory
Jud lived on a large island in the West Blue renowned for its craftsmanship. Ship wrights, carpenters, weavers, and masons were some of the few who lived on the island. Jud himself was an adequate mason when he was in his mid-twenties. A few days after his daughter was born, a fight broke out in town when some pirates were confronted in town by some of the younger workers who had been recently insulted. Jud tried to intervene between the two groups, but his lack of fighting experience meant he was not a match for the entire pirate crew. Luckily he was saved by some marines who happened to be nearby and chased off the pirates.
Jud felt that he wanted to be able to protect his family and island if the need arose, so he left his business to some friends and left to join the marines. His large size and years of working with stone helped him develop insane amounts of not only strength, but also dexterity. He quickly grew accustomed to fighting, and gained the personal interest of one Monkey D. Garp. The two men quickly bonded, and Jud's personality started reflecting Garp's subtly.
After his training was complete, Jud was transferred to a post near his home island so that he would have time to spend with his family. He was revered by his daughter, although she was often sad because she rarely got to see her father. Jud would spend 12 years in the marines before he heard Garp speak of his two grandsons. Garp would tell him of his distaste at their wishing to be pirates, but also of his pride at their strength. Although Jud had already started training "Disciples" among the marines, he believed that there were probably those among pirates that could meet Jud's standards. Asking Garp to look over his daughter, Jud simply left the marines.
He roamed the islands he knew in search of candidates for crew members, before settling on those from his home island who wished to roam the seas. To this day he now pursues potential candidates for JUD'S MASTER TRAINING!
My friend Shaun is writing a One Piece fanfiction that does not involve the murder of all crew mates this time.
